Sport Details: (full set of rules will be posted soon) Broomball is similar to ice hockey but is played in your sneakers (or broomball shoes for better traction). A "broom" is used instead of a hockey stick. Brooms have been updated since their early days and now consist of wood or metal sticks with plastic or rubber heads. SBS teams will consist of 10-15 players and play 6 to a side on the ice. 3 forward, 2 defense, and the goalie. Game play surface is an ice rink split in 2 across the rink and runs sideline to sideline. We will be using regular ice hockey nets.
Equipment Details: Nets, balls, broomball sticks, goals, and referees will be provided. You must provide your own helmet. Goalies must wear a helmet with a facemask. Mouthguards are also required. You are not permitted to play without the required equipment. Elbow pads, shin pads, and knee pads are recommended but not required. If you prefer, you may also bring your own broomball stick. Almost all types of helmets will be acceptable (bike, ski, hockey, lacrosse, etc), check with the ref if you're unsure. Goalies are allowed to wear shin guards and other body protectors like a chest protector but must be worn under clothes (these are small and do not take up additional space). No hockey leg pads, or hockey goalie glove, or hockey goalie arm blocker pads. Staff must approve any other equipment. Goalies may use a baseball or softball glove.
Broomball is always an amazingly fun time. It is fast paced, crazy, and slick! You'll be laughing your way to a victory!
Team & Fee Details: Teams consist of 10 players, you may have up to 15 on the roster. There must be at least 4 female players on the roster. There must be at least 2 female players on the ice at all times. Individuals are invited to sign up as well as whole teams. Broomball is only $83pp! Players over 10 are discounted down to $63pp. (With other rinks, the price is as high as $97, but we were able to get better rates and pass on the savings to you)
Due to extremely limited ice time, we currently have room for only 4 teams per night (8 teams total). Don't miss out! Sign up ASAP
