Boston, We Need Your Help!

Play With Purpose

79% of the Volo City Kids Foundation is funded by Volo City’s adult leagues. It’s what make sets us apart – we play so kids can play for free! Where else do you have the opportunity to play a game with your friends, meet new people, while making a positive change in your community?

Together we make a difference, but there is more we can do! The need for free quality leagues for Baltimore youth grows more and more every day. This season, we are challenging our players to help us raise $1,000 in one week! Luckily, we make it easy for you to donate! In addition to the traditional methods, we accept donations via PayPal and Venmo.

Did you know that 70% of kids quit sports due to high costs, excessively competitive environments, and the pressure to specialize too early? Your donation will go towards equipment, fields, curriculum development, referees, team t-shirts, and healthy meals for every Volo Kid!  Whether you donate time, skill, or money, know that you are actively making a difference. You are changing lives and improving your community

How it works:
Teams must buy the runs before the game begins as it will count immediately. For example, if one team purchases two goals and the other chooses not to, the game will start as 2-0. If both teams decide to purchase two goals, the game will start as 2-2.

ONLY $10 PER GOAL – Maximum of 2 goals can be purchased per game.

Where to Play:

Spring Kickball Leagues

Half Shot Hot Shot

How it works: Players sign up individually. Each player gets ONE or THREE SHOTS to make a half court shot!

$10 for One Shot | $20 for Three Shots – Winners receive a $50 SBS Credit

Where to Play:

Spring Basketball Leagues

How it works: Serving Challenge – score the most points to win

Airmail Cornhole

How it works:
Players sign up individually. There will be 8 rounds of play (fewer if we get a winner sooner!). Round one players will have 8 bags (aka 8 chances) to get a bag in the hole. Players who score move on to the next round. Round 2-8 a bag will be taken away each round (round 2: 7 bags, round 3: 6 bags, etc), giving players fewer chances to score and increasing the competition!

ONLY $5 TO ENTER – Last player standing WINS half the pot of money. The other half goes directly to the kids!

Where to Play:

Spring Cornhole Leagues

Accuracy Challenge

How it works:
Compete in an accuracy test before or after your scheduled game. Do you have what it takes to dodge, dip, dive, duck, and dodge your way to the grand prize?

Compete in 1 accuracy challenge before or after your game. Winner receives a free league

ONLY $5  TO PLAY (and $5 + to buy back in the first round)!

Where to Play:

Spring Dodgeball Leagues

High Roller Competition

How it works:
Players sign up individually. Each player gets one round of skeeball (9 balls) to score the highest score possible. Whoever scores the highest points in one round, wins!

What is the Volo City Kids Foundation?

The Volo City Kids Foundation began in the spring of 2015 as a passion project for Giovanni Marcantoni, CEO of Volo City. We remove the barriers to participation for those who need the opportunity the most. We provide free, organized play within the community. In addition to the weekly practice and game coaching, we provide postgame meals that give players and parents the opportunity to meet others within the community as well as connect with our volunteers. The best part? We make it easy to connect you to your community – as simple as Click. Play. Enjoy.

Volo City represents more than a game, we are a movement. We wish to connect more meaningfully with each other, and not through a screen. We are people looking for something deeper than a “like” or a swipe to the right. We are a grassroots uprising, helping people connect and share their experiences without a digital platform.

Volo City Kids we understand that no one knows a community better than the people who actually live there. We intentionally partner with organizations doing similar work and help them expand their reach to serve more kids and families. Within two years of us offering free quality kids leagues, we have had over 250 volunteers to coach and expanded from Baltimore into five other cities. Most importantly, we have changed the lives of over 3,500 kids all over the United States!

Not only do our volunteers get to play and teach kids a sport for an afternoon, but they also get to play in any Volo City league for free. Yes, you read that right- FREE leagues for volunteers! Can’t make it? There are SO many other ways to get involved! Everything from donating to participating in Kids Week events supports the Volo City Kids Foundation. For more information on what you can do, please see your league’s host, check out www.volocityfoundation.org, or email taylor@volocity.org
